About Us

Inspired by Gospel values, SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT de PAUL, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person services to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St. Vincent de Paul.

A list of services of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the United States is endless. No work of charity is foreign to the Society. To quote our patron, St. Vincent de Paul: "Charity is infitely inventive."

SVDP Annual Walk for the Poor

This year's annual St. Vincent de Paul “Walk for the Poor” is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th 2019. The walk will begin and end at Saint Susanna's parking area and will cover a 2.25 mile loop around the Riverdale section of Dedham. Registration for the walk will begin at 9:00 and the walk will start at 9:30.

Light refreshments will be served at the end of the walk.

All of the funds raised from the walk will directly benefit our neighbors in need. Day after day, many people in our community struggle to make ends meet. Some families are struggling due to an unexpected health issue or reduced hours of work. Some are trying to “juggle”the family budget after an unexpected repair cost, like a leaking hot water tank or automotive repair. We are also observing housing expenses continue to rise along with utility, food and clothing costs.

We are inviting everyone to participate and there are several ways you can become involved:

You can become a walker by picking up a registration form and sponsor sheet at the back of the church.
Then you ask friends, neighbors and family to make donations to sponsor your walk.
You can sponsor someone you know who is walking.
If you do not know someone who is walking, you can sponsor Fr. Steve by sending a donation to the Parish Center.

There are envelopes with a “SVdP Walk”label attached at the rear of the church. You can simply make a donation and drop the envelope into any of the collection baskets.
